Text
Writing is the only moment when a person can be what he really is. In that moment escaping from reality happens and the writer finally does not need any approval from anybody.
He can freely express himself, no restrictions are there, it is like
being in the most comfortable place on earth and have all the chances
and permissions to write or talk about whatever that comes to mind. This
situation is described by Daniel Marques, exactly when he mentioned
that “writing is also about showing the deepest secrets in their soul to
anyone willing to have them, their private emotions and opinions”. Therefore, words can come up without fear of disapproval when the intimate moment of writing occurs; crazy feelings or quiet thoughts are freely expressed in that unique world created by the mind of the writer, who,
as Mary Brown stated, probably may think “In my quiet space, my
quietude, and my solemn hours, I toss words into the darkness and wait
for an echo. If the echo sounded, no matter how faint, I would send
other words to meet and greet it”. In
conclusion, all writers, even the beginner ones, know that being the
real person someone is and feeling like home is only achieved by
writing.
Questions and answers from classmates about the paragraph ...
1):How would you use the type of text you chose to improve students' writing skills?
The type of text I chose was “Expository”. Writers usually use
expository texts or paragraphs to explain a subject or show how
something happens. A good way to improve our students` writing skills is
giving them options to write, for example they can create a newspaper
or a journal or a blog, where they can write about the way some things
happen or work. At the same moment they are using their skills to write
expository texts, they are improving these skills.
2):What techniques and exercises would you use, for which students are to acquire speaking skills?
In my opinion, these activities (writing a paragraph) are closely
related to the writing skill; therefore improving the speaking sill is
not an easy task. However, I believe there are some options or
strategies a teacher can use in order to improve this skill. For
example, every time a teacher wants to ask students to write a
paragraph, he (the teacher) can ask the students to prepare the same
document but in an oral way. Also the teacher can ask students to
prepare a deeper activity, giving reasons to stand their ground about
their writing.
